Spa FAQs
How to Book
It is essential to pre-book spa treatments to avoid disappointment. To make an appointment, please contact the Reservations Team on +44 (0)1834 815075 or via email at stbridesspa@celtic-collection.com. and we will be delighted to discuss your requirements. For full details of our current opening hours, check the website ahead of your visit.
A 90 minute session in our Thermal Suite & Hydrotherapy Pool is complimentary to our hotel guests.
To maintain the tranquility and serenity within the spa and to enhance your enjoyment of the facilities, we limit the number of thermal suite and hydro pool bookings we accept at any one time and therefore, bookings must be made in advance.
The sea view dual treatment suite can be requested at the time of booking and is subject to availability.
Booking & Cancellation Policy
All treatments require full pre-payment at time of booking. Individuals who wish to change or cancel an appointment must provide 7 days notice in order for the pre-payment to be refunded. A 7 day cancellation policy applies to all valid spa vouchers, otherwise the voucher will become void.
Health Conditions
If you suffer from high blood pressure, have recently been unwell or believe you may be pregnant you should not use the saunas, steam rooms, spa bath or any heat-based treatments. If you have any medical conditions, are pregnant or breastfeeding or have any allergies, injuries, skin complaints or infections, please discuss with your spa therapist (and doctor where necessary) prior to making your booking as this may influence your treatment options. A full consultation will be held prior to your treatment in which all medical conditions will be discussed. If this highlights you are taking any medication, have a medical condition, any injuries or special requirements that were not discussed at the time of booking, this could possibly lead to the treatment being adapted, changed or cancelled. Some treatments are not suitable during pregnancy and/or whilst breast feeding.
Thermal Suite & Hydrotherapy Pool
We recommend that our guests do not use the Thermal Suite & Hydrotherapy Pool for longer than 90 minutes as prolonged exposure to high temperatures may cause faintness, dehydration and overheating. The Thermal Suite & Hydrotherapy Pool is not available to pregnant guests.
Age Restrictions
The Thermal Suite, Hydrotherapy Pool and Treatments are available to guests 16 years and over.
A child’s core body temperature rises faster than an adult due to its higher metabolic rate per body mass. Circulation is limited which increases cardiac demand and inability to regulate the body temperature by sweating. For this reason, use of the thermal suite by children is not allowed.
Timings
We ask that you always allow enough time for your experience and arrive 15 minutes prior to allow yourself the opportunity to complete your health consultation and relax prior to treatment. Please note that as a courtesy to all our clients a prompt appointment schedule is adhered to, late appointments may not be honoured and no discount or refund given. Treatments that start late will still finish at the appointed time, so other guests are not inconvenienced.
What To Bring
Please take care of your personal effects when using the spa, as we cannot take liability for their loss.
A robe, towel and slippers will be provided for you as required, as part of all spa experience days. Hotel guests are welcome to arrive in the robe and slippers from their bedroom. Please wear undergarments or dry swimwear during your treatment. We can also provide disposable underwear if required and our therapists will ensure that you are modestly covered with towels at all times.
At the end of your treatment you will have time to change and prepare yourself to rejoin the world, totally relaxed and at peace with your inner and outer being. Please note that mobile phones must be switched off at all times within the spa
Hotel Guests
For your comfort and convenience, you will find a robe and slippers in your wardrobe. Please ensure that you change into them before coming to the spa. The hotel lift will take you to the lower ground floor where the spa is located.
Health questionnaires can be found within your information pack in your room. These can be completed prior to your arrival in the Spa
Refreshments
A selection of complimentary herbal teas, coffee and water are available in our dry relaxation room.
If you have lunch included in one of our day spa escapes, your meal will be served in our Cliff Restaurant. Please do advise us of any dietary requests at the time of booking. Alcohol is not permitted in the spa.
Mobile Phones
For courtesy to all our spa guests, we appreciate you leaving your mobile phone switched off in your locker or left in your room.
Does the Spa have a Swimming Pool?
We do not have a swimming pool in the Spa. We have a Marine Hydrotherapy Pool which is specifically designed as a Spa experience. It contains natural salt instead of chemicals and is heated consistently to body temperature (between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius). It also contains air loungers, which act like a Jacuzzi and a swan neck fountain. There are swimming pools nearby we can recommend.
Does the Spa have a Jacuzzi?
We do not have a stand alone Jacuzzi but the air loungers in the Marine Hydrotherapy Pool produce a very similar effect on the body.
Pregnancy and our Spa
The Thermal Suite and Hydrotherapy Pool cannot be used by pregnant women as there is a potential for the core body temperature to be affected. This can cause ill effects to the foetus.
During pregnancy we still offer a treatments that are specifically designed for guests during pregnancy, from twelve weeks or more.
Do you have a Gym?
We have a Fitness Suite located away from the Spa in the hotel grounds. It has the latest exercise equipment and flat screen televisions for you to watch while working out. It is for the exclusive use of hotel guests. Children of sixteen or older may use the fitness suite if accompanied by an adult.
Alcohol
Alcohol is prohibited on health grounds as it acts as a diuretic causing dehydration. The Thermal Suite will only further increase this effect. If you have consumed alcohol you should wait at least two and a half hours before going into the Thermal suite.
Disabled Access
The Spa has a disabled chair lift to all levels. Disabled toilet and shower facilities are available as are fully adjustable treatment couches. We have disabled access to our Thermal Suite and our Hydro Pool has access via gradual steps with a hand rail.
Treatment Prices
Treatment prices are subject to change without notice and are inclusive of VAT.
